Dear Club Members!
I am not a great fan of opera, but yesterday I had one of the most heart warming experiences of my life while at the opera. Clinton, the main recipient of your club membership money was my date to the opening performance of La Boheme at the Nelson Mandela Theatre. I don’t think I have ever had somebody sit that still next to me in a theatre. He was riveted and drank the whole performance in. During a scene change he turned to me and said he is going to be in that orchestra pit one day! Timothy Myers, the American conductor is staying at Zietsies for the run of the opera and he is going to organise for Clinton to go and sit in the pit for one of the performances, so Clinton is going to be there much faster than he thought!
The KKNK is over and done with and Janine and I are ready to do the new show in the Glass Cage. “OP ‘N LIGTER NOOT” was written by Emma Bekker who also wrote my previous show “AGTER GLAS”. Maralin Vanrenen directed again and Janine Neethling once again wrote all the music. On Sunday 18 April we will be Kos en Konsert-ing and all the tables are still available. On Friday 23 and Saturday 24 April we will be doing the show in the evenings and again with Sunday lunch on 2 May. You can book now by replying to this e-mail. The usual Kos en Konsert price of R 400 pp applies.
Coming Thursday 15 April I have something special for the coffee lovers, a Coffee Tasting evening. Space for this is limited and it is first come or rather book, first served. Cost for this is R 150 pp and includes a lekker goodies bag!
Hope to see you all very soon and remember if you call me before three in the afternoon Agnes and I will cook for you that evening. And you can come for a drink on the deck at any time, just call first to make sure I am at home.
Lekker dag!
